Driving Downtown - Vancouver BC Canada - Season 1 Episode 22. Starting Point: Granville St https://goo.gl/maps/zcJQRonhEBN2 . Vancouver, officially the City of Vancouver, is a coastal seaport city on the mainland of British Columbia, Canada. The 2011 census recorded 603,502 people in the city, making it the eighth largest Canadian municipality. The Greater Vancouver area of around 2.4 million inhabitants is the third most populous metropolitan area in the country, the second largest city on the United States–Canada border, and the most populous in Western Canada. The design emphasizes aging in place, so we’ve given the doors, built-in furniture, and the king sized bed a wide enough berth to accommodate wheelchair access. The shower is completely curb-less, and the heated floors throughout the home deliver an especially satisfying tickle on the toes — especially in the bathroom where the Italian marble flooring conducts heat more efficiently than wood or carpet. The bath also features an oversized soaker tub and in the bedroom there is some custom designed storage to keep the huge walk-in closet organized. In this Vancouver laneway home, stone is featured not just in the bathroom, but also on all the countertops in the custom kitchen, as well as in the grounding hearth in the living room. This laneway house also showcases one of the biggest benefi...
I think this is footage from November 11th 1938, but I can not certain of the year. Victory Square was the heart of downtown at this time. The Cenotaph was unveiled by William Reid Owen, Mayor of Vancouver, in the presence of an assemblage of 25,000 persons; naval, military and civilian, and including the Old Contemptibles, 7th British Columbia, 29th Vancouver, 72nd Seaforths, 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles, 47th New Westminster, and 102nd North British Columbian Battalions, C.E.F., and others, on Sunday, 27 April 1924. It was dedicated by Hon. Major the Rev. Cecil C. Owen, M.B.E., V.D., D.D., chaplain of the 29th (Vancouver) Battalion, C.E.F. This footage comes from a film that was created in 1939 by Larry Cooke and that is really all the detail I can find out about it. this comes from...

It was quite nice outside so we decided to have lunch right on a bench. We had to share food with the feathered friends. It was quite interesting to observe pigeons and seagulls behaviour. There was one pigeon much more curious than others who didn't have much fear of humans, he had crooked beak so I called him crooked-beak. P.S. look at us speaking a 'pidgin' language... ;)
